This is the time of year when we reflect on our accomplishments. The eleventh hour, if you will. We do a self-critique. Some of us refer to our ‘new year’s resolutions’ written out at the start of the year. We quietly pat ourselves on the back for things that were done and scold ourselves profusely for those that weren’t fulfilled. There is so much more to us than the annual list of things we erroneously set out to do. The tasks on the list are what we presume sound good to the ear. Often, we have no true intention of doing most of them. I recall watching a sitcom where one of the characters looked back on the deeds that she wrote down so many years ago; and she had done none of them. Lesson…look forward, not back!
