Have you ever heard the phrase, “you’re just putting on”? This simply means that you are behaving in a way that is deemed uncharacteristic. We do this in so many areas of our lives. When at work, we put on not only our work attire, but our work ways. Parents put on our mommy/daddy hat to provide proper guidance (and behave accordingly). We even put on our friend hat and get in that mode. None of this is to say we are not sincere during those moments. As one of my sisters’ puts it, there are many layers to each of us. During some of those times, we feel like we are not being our true self. Will the real you please stand up?!
